Opkey Release 6.00

Overview

Opkey offers top-tier test automation and configuration management with its Cloud-based platform. The latest release improves user experience with a modern look and new modules, including Quality Lifecycle Management and Oracle Fusion configuration snapshots.

We understand that managing multiple testing applications can be cumbersome. Opkey now combines project management, issue tracking, and testing into one unified platform for seamless collaboration across DevOps, QA, and functional teams.

Opkey’s Quality Lifecycle Management (QLM)

QLM centralizes testing (manual & automated) for project managers, developers, and testers. It simplifies tracking releases, collaboration on issues, progress monitoring, and report generation, promoting open communication throughout software development.

QLM now lets you define milestones within releases, including tasks, features, and bug fixes. This enhances the management of application versions and their associated test runs.

User stories act as user-friendly requirements lists, prioritizing what users want to achieve with the planned release. They capture user needs in a clear, and concise way.

Opkey's Manual Run eliminates the need for maintaining manual test cases in Excel sheets. With the Excel Migrator addon, you can import and execute your test cases directly in Opkey, saving time and effort.

QLM's test run section lets you manage both manual and automated test case executions. It offers detailed data on the execution counts, statuses, and outcomes of executed test cases via the test run dashboard. You can also create and execute test run sessions directly from the dashboard.

Automation

The Automate tab on the left panel consolidates core Opkey automation features such as Test Cases, Test Suites, Test Data, and API Tests into one place.

You can log Tickets/Defects and monitor development issues to identify and eliminate release roadblocks. Any project team member can initiate and monitor these, ensuring up-to-date status awareness and effective collaboration for issue resolution.

Opkey Browser Extension

We have updated the Opkey Chrome Browser Extension to create and run manual test cases. Testers can now create User Stories and Tickets/Defects directly from the test application browser window, eliminating the need to switch between multiple applications.

The new Chrome extension allows users to attach files and capture images or videos, including options for Visible Area, Full Page, Current Tab, and Other Tabs. This helps capture requirements, defects, or expected output seamlessly.

The status of the Test Run can also be updated from here by selecting the appropriate options from the available dropdown list.

Discovery

The Test Discovery feature, now under the Discovery tab, connects to your cloud environment, reads historic logs, and matches tested elements to Opkey's pre-built components. It identifies test coverage gaps and suggests related test scripts and scenarios for automation, increasing coverage and reducing downtime.

It takes snapshots of the testing process at regular intervals, allowing you to compare actual and expected outcomes and identify deviations.

It categorizes differences between old and new sessions into distinct forms, codes, and DB fields, enabling clear identification of changes.

Discovery provides an Impact Report to evaluate the effects of new releases or patch upgrades on your current tests.

Opkey's ConfigOps

Config Ops helps automate the entire DevOps lifecycle, from configuration to deployment, saving time and effort and ensuring smooth Oracle Fusion implementation and maintenance.

Opkey’s Config Ops helps in:

  1. New configurations of Oracle Fusion. Example - The manual tasks of copying, importing, and exporting the configured files to different instances can now be automated using Opkey’s ConfigOps.

     2. Transferring the configuration setup data from one system to another without hassle.

    3. Comparing configured data of different instances to the required testing environment.

Reports

Opkey’s Custom Reporting enables the creation of reports by adding widgets and selecting modules for visualization in tabular form. Users can choose dimensions and matrices and customize display preferences, facilitating the extraction and graphical organization of specific data of interest.

My Space

My Space allows users to create custom filters and save them as dynamic reports. It consolidates details of assigned tasks, releases, and milestones in a single place using pre-built filters.

Wilfred - Opkey’s AI-powered chatbot

Opkey's AI-powered test assistant, 'Wilfred,' is an intelligent chatbot that automates testing tasks using generative AI and process mining. It reduces manual effort in creating test scripts, improving testing accuracy and efficiency.

A selection of additional changes:

  • Functional Library is now renamed to Reusable Component.

  • Global Data Repository is renamed as Datasheet.

  • Service Repository renamed as API Test.

  • Bugs can now be logged from Tickets in the platform itself.

  • The sections for Priority, Assignee, and Reviewer are now being added to artifacts in the Automate section of Test, Test Suite, Datasheet, API Test.
