Introducing Opkey Unified Testing Suite
Opkey and pCloudy have merged to form a unified platform for continuous testing. With a revamped interface, Opkey now integrates ERP testing with access to test infrastructure and browser labs. This enables automated and parallel test execution across cloud or local devices.
This release note is divided into five sections: 1. Reports 2. Data management 3. AI and project management enhancements 4. Opkey Test Discovery enhancements 5. All other new features
Reporting got better:
It’s easy to analyze and keep track of all your projects with a host of new features:
Introduced new widgets in Custom Report:
a) Total Count of the created report
This widget displays the total count of the filtered data in a block.
b) Remaining days in a release or milestone
This widget notifies the remaining number of days left for the release or a milestone to end.
c) Introduced multiple chart options for enhanced Report visualization
The addition of Donut Chart, Filtered Chart, Bar Chart, and Stacked Bar Chart enhances the visualization capabilities, enabling users to interpret complex data more effectively. These options facilitate deeper analysis and decision-making by presenting insights in visually engaging formats.
d) Moveable and Sizeable widgets in custom report
Customize the layout of your QLM report by moving and resizing widgets according to your preference.
e) Kanban View on QLM Managers and saved Filter Managers
QLM managers and Saved Filter Managers now have access to the Kanban view, in addition to User Stories.
f) Move your favorite reports to the Dashboard
Pin your essential reports directly to the main dashboard using the pin option. This allows for quick access to important reports without the need to navigate back to the report tab every time.
Quickly identify your favorite QLM reports by starring them with the available option.
g) Introduction of two new fields of ‘Due Date’ and ‘Original Estimate’ in four artifacts- User Story, Ticket, Test Case, Reusable Component and their Managers
This feature displays task due dates and estimated completion times for selected artifacts and reports can be created using these fields.
Advanced filtering options have been added for due dates in User Stories, Tickets, Test Cases, and Reusable Components, providing users with more refined control over organizing and managing their tasks and components.
The Due Date column can be utilized in QLM report widgets - This feature notifies the due dates for selected user stories.
h) QLM Report permission
You can save the created QLM report in Public, Private, or shared mode, providing flexibility in controlling its visibility and accessibility based on specific preferences or requirements.
i) Background Report exporter
New report generation options have been added to create MultiSession Validation and MultiSession Module Wise reports.
j) Time Tracking field for User Story, Ticket, Test Case, and Reusable Component
Users can record and save the time spent on any artifact using the time tracking field, which will then be associated with that artifact for reference.
k) Share and notify user through email when a QLM report is shared with them
QLM reports can now be shared with specific users, who will receive email notifications regarding the shared report.
2.Test Data Management:
a) Introduced Local Datasheet
Local Datasheet is akin to a spreadsheet that contains various data sets, allowing you to run iterations of specific test steps with different data values within a test case.
This provides flexibility through features like adding new datasets, modifying rows or columns, and importing/exporting data from Excel. When you integrate a local datasheet into a test case, the associated test step(s) iterate based on the corresponding data row in the local datasheet.
b) Introduced Export Import feature (for files in Automate section)
Opkey users can now export artifacts from one Opkey domain and import them into another Opkey domain. This feature enables sharing of desired artifacts between users working on the same or different Opkey domains.
Opkey users can import artifacts and also compare the existing artifacts with imported ones. If no changes are detected, it skips import, preserving the workspace. Otherwise, it updates the artifact accordingly during the import process.
c) Introduced Jira Migrator Addon
This addon enables seamless integration between Jira and Opkey, allowing users to import logged bugs from Jira into Opkey. This streamlines the management of the software development lifecycle by consolidating all activities into one platform.
d) Introduced Excel Migrator Addon
This addon streamlines the migration of manual test cases from Excel files to Opkey, enabling smooth execution, customization, playback, and report generation within the Opkey platform.
e) Introduced Folder View to better manage test artifacts
Opkey now includes a folder view feature to help organize created artifacts within the project workspace.
f) Introduced Auto Data Generation
We've introduced the Auto Data Generation feature, which automates the creation of data, removing the need for manual entry or manipulation. This is especially beneficial for managing large datasets and simulating various scenarios without the need for manual data input.
3.Use of AI for enhanced productivity and remove common automation project bottlenecks:
a) Opkey now employs Wilfred AI chatbot to prevent the creation of redundant artifacts by identifying similar named files during the creation of new user stories or tickets. This feature helps users avoid duplicates by presenting search results for existing files with similar names, thereby optimizing testing bandwidth.
b) Users can now tag in comments for which Email notification will be sent to the tagged person
Users can now tag specific individuals in comments, triggering email notifications to notify them of assigned tasks, requirement updates, or ticket changes. Additionally, users have the flexibility to edit or delete comments added to user stories or tickets, providing greater control over shared information within the system.
c) Introduced capturing images and recording videos while creating QLM and Automate files
The latest update introduces image and video capturing capabilities when creating files in QLM and Automate, enhancing the process of requirement gathering and bug logging.
d) Bulk Update feature in User Story and Ticket
This feature enables users to update data across multiple files simultaneously.
4.Opkey Test Discovery Enhancements
a) Descriptive Flex Field (DFF) changes
A new tab has been added in the Snapshot section for DFF (Dynamic Forms Framework). This tab displays user activity in the fields of a specific scenario, which can be either global or contextual.
b) Grouping of scenarios have been implemented
To select or deselect multiple scenarios in the Snapshot section and view their graphs together, press Ctrl+Shift.
For selecting or deselecting a single scenario, press Ctrl+Click on the scenario.
c) Export Discovery datasheet to excel
Export configurations in Excel format from the configurations tab for the selected business units available in the scenarios.
d) Discovery Graph UI enhancements
The Discovery Graph UI has undergone changes in its user interface. Introduction of color differences on activities based on their usage in different scenarios
Red, orange, and purple colors have been added to the graph to signify the usage of various scenarios.
