Automating a test case on Test Discovery

Opkey's Test Discovery analyzes your testing environment and suggests testing scenarios that should be covered under your testing process. You can automate these suggested scenarios by using Test Discovery's Automate feature. You can also automate test cases in Mined scenarios.

In the following section, we will automate testing scenarios of an analyzed Oracle instance.

After the snapshot report is created, we can see the tabs related to mined activities, configurations, and Oracle fields on the right panel.

Post-mining the test data of an instance, we can automate the selected test case with the automate button present at the top of the middle panel.

Click the automate button to view the automation in the process.

When the process is complete, a message is displayed of successful completion.

You can either select Discovery Snapshot or Metadata Snapshot.

You can automate a few test cases or multiple test cases with just one click by selecting the Pivot table option by clicking on the three dots option. The Pivot option allows you to view all the Business Units.

Select the Business Units for which you want to automate the test cases. Click on Apply.

Now you can view all the test cases of the selected Business Unit.

To update test cases in bulk, select the first test case, then press Shift and click on the last test case. All test cases in between will be selected. Click the Automate tab to automate all the selected test cases at once, saving time and effort when dealing with many.

Here we are selecting one test case to be automated.

Click Navigate to Test, once automated.

It will redirect to the test case, which you need to execute.

To learn more about execution, refer to the article on Creating and executing automated test case.
