Opkey 6.00.00

Overview

Opkey is dedicated to offering the highest quality of test automation and configuration management on the market. Our unique Cloud-based software solution offers a single platform for efficient test automation, management, and data insights. The latest release gives the platform a more modern look and feel, improving overall user experience while adding new modules like Quality Lifecycle Management and Oracle Fusion configuration snapshots. These release notes highlight new developments on the platform and the biggest benefits for users.

We understand that managing multiple testing applications can be cumbersome. Opkey now offers project management, issue tracking, and testing tools in a single place, making it easily accessible for DevOps, QA, and application/functional teams.

Opkey’s Quality Lifecycle Management (QLM)

Project managers can use QLM to effortlessly follow software releases, work together on identifying and addressing problems, monitor progress, and create reports. QLM encourages teamwork and openness among developers, testers, and everyone involved in the software development process. QLM as a test management tool helps organizations centralize their testing efforts, whether they use manual or automated tests.

Releases in QLM are a way to manage different versions of an application and the test runs performed on each version. Users can now add milestones for different phases in a release, which may include tasks, features, and bug fixes for a particular release.

User stories store the gathered requirements from the user in a way that is easy to understand and prioritize. These are written from the perspective of the user and describe what they want to be able to do with the software.

Opkey's Manual Run feature enables the execution of manual test cases without the need to maintain them in Excel sheets. This saves both time and effort while ensuring the accuracy of the test cases.

Test Run furnishes extensive data, including the total count of test case executions, individual execution status, and a summary of test run outcomes. These comprehensive insights empower you to take immediate action, ensuring that critical defects are addressed promptly.

Automation

The Automate tab on the left panel reorganizes core Opkey automation features, like Test Cases, Test Suites, Test Data, and API Tests, into one place.

Now you can also add an attachment, comments, or link the user story, ticket, and test suite to a test case.

You can decide the priority and add an assignee, reporter, reviewer, etc. This lets you have transparency of the status of the progress on a given task. Tasks can be assigned to a test case. With a comment feature, you can notify other users in your organization about the changes and modifications in the file itself. Keywords are now more user-friendly, with textual descriptions to help all users easily read and understand the purpose of a particular keyword.

You can log your Tickets/Defects and monitor issues identified in the development. This helps identify and eliminate your release roadblocks. They can be initiated and monitored by any member of the project team, facilitating up-to-date status awareness and effective collaboration for issue resolution.

Opkey Browser Extension

We have introduced an update to the Opkey Chrome Browser Extension add-on to create and run Manual test cases. This allows testers you create User Stories and Tickets/Defects as well from your test application browser window. This means that there is no need to switch multiple applications.

The new Chrome extension also allows user to can attach files and capture images. Options include Visible Area, Full Page, and Other tabs, as well as Capture Video of the Current Tab or Other Tabs to capture requirements, defects, or expected output seamlessly.

The status of the Test Run can also be updated from here by selecting the appropriate options from the available dropdown list.

Discovery

Our Test Discovery feature is now available under the Discovery tab on the left panel. Discovery allows users to plug in to their cloud application environment, read historic configuration and activity logs, and match what's already been tested to Opkey's library of pre-built components and test cases. Further, by comparing historic tests to the accelerator library, it uncovers test coverage gaps and suggests related test scripts and scenarios that users can automate and execute, ultimately increasing their test coverage and mitigating application downtime.

It also takes snapshots of the testing process. By adding snapshots at regular intervals, you can compare the actual and the expected outcomes of your processes, and identify areas with deviations.

It categorizes the differences between old and new sessions into distinct forms, codes, DB fields, etc. enabling clear identification of changes.

Discovery offers an Impact Report to evaluate the effects of new releases or patch upgrades on your current tests.

Opkey's ConfigOps

This platform automates the entire DevOps lifecycle, from configuration to deployment. This saves you time and effort and helps ensure your Oracle Fusion implementation and maintenance goes smoothly.

Opkey’s Config Ops helps in:

  1. New configurations of Oracle Fusion. Example - The manual tasks of copying, importing, and exporting the configured files to different instances can now be automated using Opkey’s ConfigOps.

  2. Transferring the configuration setup data from one system to another without hassle.

  3. Comparing configured data of different instances to the required testing environment.

Reports

Opkey’s Custom Reporting lets you create reports by adding widgets and selecting modules to be visualized in a tabular form. You can choose the dimensions and matrices and decide how they should be displayed. It helps to extract information of specific interest and organize the data graphically.

My Space

My Space lets users create custom filters and save them as a dynamic report. It provides details of the assigned tasks, releases, and milestones in a single place using the pre-built filters.

Wilfred - Opkey’s AI-powered chatbot

Opkey's AI-powered test assistant, 'Wilfred,' is an intelligent chatbot. He helps with automating testing tasks, using generative AI and process mining. It reduces manual effort in creating test scripts to improve testing accuracy and efficiency.
