External Tool Integration with Jira - New UI

Jira, a well-known bug-tracking, issue-tracking, and project-management tool, can be integrated with Opkey. It enables automatic bug logging for failed test executions and updating existing bugs in specific projects.

Let’s see how to achieve that in Opkey.

Click on the Profile icon and select App Settings.

Navigate to Project Management in the admin panel, then click the three dots next to the project you wish to integrate.

Select the Test Management tool.

Select the External Tool Integration tab and check the checkbox against Jira Extension for Opkey.

The ‘Configure’ icon is now enabled. Click to configure and save it with the Save icon.

After entering the Jira credentials in the pop-up window, click on the "Login" button.

It will fetch the details from Jira for the projects that are created on the platform.

Check the checkbox for the required project and then click on the  Configure Workflow Icon.

On the next window, click on the ‘+’ icon to add a new Workflow.

Fill in the conditions of the Given execution status, Issue Type, Issue Status, and Change Status, and click on the Back button. Click on the Save button.

The workflow gets saved.

On your Jira-integrated project in Opkey, please search for the test case and right-click on it.

Then, map the test case with the Jira tool. Click Map to Jira.

The pop-up opens up where you can search for your project and apply the mapped changes.

When you execute the test case, the failed notification will be logged in Jira.

The bugs will be logged into Jira.

Jira on Premise

For On-premises Jira, users can activate the utility by entering Opkey domain details. Upon a successful connection, they can proceed to connect and run tests.

The utility supports one user connected to a single domain at a time. To switch to a different environment, users must log out of the current domain and log in to the new one.

Current users who wish to use the utility can simply enable it by selecting the "Use Utility" option within the Jira window and proceed.
