External Tool Integration with qTest

qTest, a Test Management Tool, has now been integrated with Opkey, enhancing the efficiency of managing test cases for Opkey users. With qTest Manager, users can seamlessly map project artifacts to log new defects, create Test Cases, and more.  

  

Before configuring qTest Manager with Opkey, ensure that you have a registered account.   

  

Let’s proceed to see how you can work with qTest Manager.  

  

Login to the qTest portal with credentials.  

  

  

  

To create a new project, hover over the Profile icon on the top right corner of the page and select Administration from the options.  

  

  

  

On the next page, select Projects and click on Add New Project.   

  

  

  

Enter the details of the Project Name, Start and End Date of the Project, and Description.   

Scroll down and click on Add.  

  

  

  

A notification is displayed stating the Project is successfully created. The created project can be seen under the list of Projects.  

  

  

 

Integration of qTest with Opkey 

 

Let us now map Opkey Projects to qTest to log defects, create test cases, and more.  

  

Login to the Opkey portal, go to the Profile section, and select App Settings. 

 

 

Click on the three dots next to the project that needs to be mapped with qTest. 

 


On the pop-up window, click the checkbox of “Use for TestManagement”  

 

 


The Configure button gets enabled. Click on the Configure button to map the Opkey project to qTest. 

 

 



On the open pop-up window, enter the URL, username, and password to log in to qTest tool. 


 


Fetch your projects and click on Save.

Now, return to the Project Workspace in Opkey and select the test case to be mapped with qTest. Right-click on the test case and choose "qTest mapping".

Opkey Test Cases get mapped with qTest 

 

Create a test case and execute it. On the Run Wizard select Advance Settings and go to the More Settings tab. 

 

 


Check the checkbox of the Update Mapped Test Management artifact. 

 

 


Click on the Start Run. 

 

 


In the live logs view the created Opkey test case in qTest. 

 

   


Login to qTest. Select your project and go to the Test Design tab. 


View the Opkey-created test case under the sub-folder Test Cases via Opkey. 

 

 

 

Similarly, you can execute a test suite in Opkey and it can be seen under the Test Execution tab. 

 

 



A Test run is seen in the Test Cycle by clicking the respective Test Run- link. 

 

 


Select the link to view the Test Run. 

 

 


It redirects you to the new window where you can view the execution details. 

 

 


To download the execution report of the executed test case, go to the Attachment tab and click the download arrow option. 

 

 


The report gets downloaded. View the execution details.
