Marketplace

The marketplace is an Opkey that allows you to use add-ons through the Opkey portal. Opkey’s Marketplace offers a wide range of digital products and solution add-ons. You can access these products and services through Cloud-based applications available on your devices.

The portal comprises four categories of addons which are categorized as “Keyword”, “Test Accelerator”, “Utilities”, and “Shared Workflows”. The add-ons can be Sorted as “Top-Rated”, “Top Liked”, “Top Trending”, “Top Selling”, and “Latest”. Addons are also categorized according to the pricing as “Free” and “Paid” addons.

How to use the Marketplace Portal:

Log in to the Opkey portal and click on Addon Launcher Tab to visit the Marketplace Portal. Else you can directly login to the marketplace portal to use its features.

The Marketplace is now accessible to only Opkey users.

After logging into the Marketplace portal, subscribe to the addon you want to use. You can view and launch your subscribed addons on the "Addon Launcher" tab in the Opkey Web or Opkey Surge portal.

There are four types of add-ons that we are providing namely:

For now, we are supporting Keywords, Utilities, and Shared Workflow. Test Accelerator will be launched soon.

Keywords – In this type of add-ons, keywords will be developed to create scripts.

Test Accelerators  This category of add-ons is where the developer uploads the exported Opkey script in the test accelerator category for others to use. By subscribing to the addon, users can utilize the script for their projects or domains, saving time on writing their own scripts.

Utility add-ons are built to let you perform an additional activity

Shared WorkflowA workflow addon combines "States and Transitions" where users can add either default states (Draft, Review, Approve, Publish) or customize their own states. By adding states, transitions show the current state of a file or artifact in Opkey. Transitions indicate the possible state changes, representing the lifecycle of a process within an organization.

The workflow can be customized for individual projects and specific modules within the same project. For example, users can define separate workflows for an Object Repository, a Test Case, and a Suite: Workflow 1 for the Object Repository, Workflow 2 for the Test Case, and Workflow 3 for the Suite.

To use an addon, subscribe to it from the available categories.

To subscribe to an addon, click its icon and then "Subscribe." Review and select the desired version. If you subscribe to an older version, click "Upgrade to Latest Version" to choose from the Addons Version list.

The subscribed addons will be seen on the “Addon Launcher” tab.

The “View All Addons” section in the Addon Launcher tab displays all the subscribed addons.

Workflow Addon

The Workflow addon, now available in the Marketplace, allows users to subscribe and use its functionality. It consists of states and transitions that indicate a file or artifact’s status. Workflows can be customized for individual projects. The add-on includes two types of workflows:

Default WorkflowIn this workflow, users can subscribe to default states like Draft, Review, Approved, and Published. When creating a new artifact, the initial state defaults to Draft but can be changed later. This workflow is non-editable, and users cannot modify its rules.

Admin users can transition artifacts between Draft, Review, Approved, and Published states. They have full rights for all transitions. Non-admin users can only move artifacts from Draft to Review. Review, Approved, and Published states are freeze states in the Default Workflow, prohibiting changes. Users must revert to Draft to modify artifacts in these states. Different workflows can be set for different artifacts.

Users can change artifact versions when moving between states. The default artifact version starts at 1. Moving from Draft to Review or vice versa increments the version. Changing to the Published state from any other state also updates the version.

Custom Workflow

Admin users can create custom workflows tailored to their needs, applying rules that may differ from the default workflow. Non-admin users cannot create or edit custom workflows. Custom workflows enable users to apply rules to selected states and transitions between states, including:

  1. Which state will be  provided with a freeze state,

  2. On what conditions it will be moving ahead,

  3. On moving to which state the version will be increased and much more.

Users can create a new Custom Workflow by clicking "Add" in the List of Workflows section. They select states from a dropdown and can add New States using the "New" option, connecting them as needed.

Clicking the forward arrow on the right side of the screen allows users to select the color of states and connectors.

The Rules tab allows users to set and modify state rules, with Pre-Condition and Action tabs available for each state.

Preconditions can be applied based on user type (admin or non-admin), creation date, and previous state. They grant users the right to proceed with specified actions.

The Actions tab includes options to Freeze the Artifact, Increment the Version, Provide Artifact Description, and Notify of Artifact Changes.

a) Users can choose to Freeze or Unfreeze the artifact, which locks it in Freeze Mode, preventing further changes or transitions.

b) Incrementing the version allows users to increase the artifact's version. Starting from the default state, this option moves the version forward by one step.

c) In the Description tab, users can "Set Description" to establish a new description or "Append Description" to add to the existing description.

d) The Notification option notifies the current user and all selected users.

e) Block Transition rules can be applied to transitions between two states based on pre-conditions.

f) The Details tab shows action details per specified rules: artifacts in Freeze mode can't be changed, "Add Description" displays user-added descriptions, and the Version section shows incremented versions.

‍This is how Opkey's marketplace platform helps you with your additional testing needs.
