Jenkins is a tool for continuous integration, supporting ongoing software delivery through flexible build pipelines and integration with various testing and deployment technologies.
Let’s have a look at how you can integrate and execute your Opkey Test Suites through Jenkins.
Opkey Integration with Jenkins
Login to Jenkins after installing it on your machine by providing your credentials. We will first integrate Opkey with Jenkins and proceed to execute the Opkey Test Suites through Jenkins.
Go to the dashboard page and select Manage Jenkins from the available options.
Scroll down the page and click on Manage Plugins
In the Plugin Manager section click on Advanced.
Scroll down a bit and select the plugin file (connect with the Opkey Support Team to get the Jenkins plugin file) to be uploaded and then click on Deploy.
You can view the installation in progress.
The plugin will get installed and will display the notification.
Check the checkbox and click on “Restart Jenkins when installation is complete, and no jobs are running”.
Jenkins is now in restart mode.
Once it restarts, go to Manage Jenkins and click on Plugin Manager. Select Installed.
Scroll down a bit and you’ll be able to view the Installed plugin.
Executing Mapped Opkey Test Suites via Jenkins
Now go back to the dashboard, select New Item, and map the respective Opkey Test Suite.
Enter your Project Name. Click on the tab of Freestyle project below it. The OK button gets enabled.
On the next window, Add a Description.
Scroll down a bit and enter the Opkey Server URL, Username, and Password. Click on Test Connection to authenticate.
Once authenticated, scroll down a bit and select the Platform on which the execution will run.
Scroll down further on the same page and enter your chosen Opkey Project name, Suite path, Build Profile, Agent Name, and Agent Plugin. Select the snapshot frequency.
Scroll down further and check the checkbox of Update Mapped Test Management Artifact. Click on Apply and then click on Save.
On the next window, select Build Now.
The execution of the Test Suite begins that gets executed in Opkey.
Note: Please keep the Opkey Execution agent connected.
Click on the Dropdown and select Console Output.
After the execution, the result can be seen.
